Biografia:
Depois que Peter Banks foi substituído por Steve Howe na Yes, ele dedicou-se à criação de uma nova banda. Essa banda foi a Flash. O grupo formou-se em 1971, quando Banks recrutou Ray Bennett (Gun), parceiro de longa data, mais Colin Carter (Camel) e Mike Hough. Tony Kaye, membro fundador da Yes, completou o grupo. A Flash produzia um som muito parecido com o da Yes em seus dois primeiros discos, mas com uma textura mais pop.  O grupo também aproveitava-se do seu virtuosismo para fazer uma abordagem mais livre dos temas, parecendo preferir o improviso ao invés do ensaio. O primeiro álbum da Flash, homônimo, foi lançado em 1972. Kaye resolveu sair depois do lançamento. Ao invés de substituí-lo, o grupo permaneceu como um quarteto. A Flah lançou mais dois discos, "In The Can" e "Out Of Our Hands", em 1973. Pouco depois, o grupo separou-se, porém um álbum ao vivo, "Psychosync" (originalmente um bootleg), foi lançado pela Voice Print Records em 1977 (Gary Hill, site AllMusic; tradução livre do inglês). |
